Brands: Camp Inn teardrop travel trailers

The Camp Inn brand is a throwback to simpler times. They are vintage travel trailers also known as teardrop travel trailers due to the sleek shape of the vehicle. Teardrop style trailers became popluar in the 1930's and thanks to companies like Camp Inn, have seen a resurgence in poplularity in recent years. These small travel trailers were ideal for towing back in the 30's and 40's because of the streamlined shape and low weight. Back then, there was no such thing as SUV's or large towing vehicles and the towing capacity of cars at the time were limited, making these types of trailers ideal for travelers. With the price of gas in today's market, the teardrop style trailer theoretically provides better gas mileage and does not require the horsepower of a large SUV or truck as a towing vehicle. Depending on the model, the Camp Inn travel trailers start with a dry hitch weight as little as 850lbs with a tongue weight of 130lbs.

Although Teardrops are smaller than most travel trailers on the market today, they are a great alternative to pop-up campers. Unlike tent-trailers, the unit is not only hard sided, but has a hard roof as well and takes significantly less time to set up once you've reached your destination or take down when you're stay is over. Every model can accommodate a queen size bed with more than enough room for 2-3 people. Each model varies with regards to the interior features, but there is room for storage and even options for things like TV/DVD players, air conditioning, and a furnace. Aside from it's size and shape, one of the main differences between this type of trailer and larger more expensive models is the fact that the kitchen is not located inside the trailer. The kitchen compartment is actually accessed from the outside at the back of the trailer. This feature is great for those of us that enjoy the experience of camping without the (often times) painful experience of sleeping on the ground. The kitchen compartment on the Camp Inn travel trailers provide a unique camping experience with 5 feet of stainless steel countertop space, cooler stand, and even a folding stainless steel dining table.

Camp Inn travel trailers can only be purchased direct from the manufacturer and due to the fact that less than 1000 of these vehicles have been made to date it is rare to find a used model.

Every trailer comes with a standard two year warranty on all parts manufactured by Camp-Inn from the date of purchase under normal use and service, when used for its intended purpose of recreational travel and camping. The manufacturer also provides a three year warranty that its vehicles structural integrity are free from substantial defects in material and workmanship.

The current lineup of Camp Inn travel trailers consists of three models that range in price and options. Details on the Camp-Inn 500, 550 and 560 models can be found by scrolling down.
